The Greenwich Concours D'Elegance 2023 is now a three day event. Friday included the following: meet and greet, grand touring event, charity fundraising and dinner parties. The Sports Car event was held on Saturday and the special Concours D'Elegance on Sunday.
This event was started by Bruce Wennerstrom, past President of the Madison Avenue Sports Car Driving Club (the oldest Auto club in the USA). The Wennerstroms ran it for many years and several years ago Hagerty Ins. purchased the rights and took control. From all indications Hagerty has continued this great event.
The shows were overall very well attended and we had a fairly good Alfa club presence in spite of the late notice that Alfa would be a featured Marque.
Several NYAROC members had Alfas displayed on both days. Lawrence Auriana's '37 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B was awarded "BEST OF SHOW", Gary Pezzella's beautiful 1956 1900 took Best in Class (he also presented his fabulous '93 RZ Zagato), Phil Jacobs displayed his '79 Niki Lauda Spider and David Garfinkel his cool '71 Montreal.
