In 2023, the Alfa Romeo Owners Club National Convention moves to the East Coast to the beautiful Piedmont area of North Carolina. The Piedmont area is a plateau of gentle hills between the coastal plains and the majestic Blue Ridge mountains. Winding roads in the mountains lead down to the gentle hills of Concord where the host hotel is located. Rolling farmland and old-fashioned Southern hospitality that harkens the vero spirito of the "Piemonte" region of Italy.

The Embassy Suites in Concord, NC is an ideal host hotel for the Convention.

Its multi-story atrium ascends around the main activity space and there is private parking for the convention. It is just two miles from the Charlotte Motor Speedway, an internationally known venue

for racing, where the time trials will be held. We will be visiting one of the largest bourbon distilleries in the Southeast as well as the Piccione Vineyards, which features award winning Italian style wines.

The Concorso will be held on the gently sloping lawn at Harrisburg Park, just 10 minutes from the hotel, with all the amenities necessary to host a magnificent Concorso d’Eleganza.

Welcome to the 40th Fiat FreakOut (FFO23). It’s been 40 years since the first FreakOut, and we’ve been celebrating our passion for all things FIAT, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, and assorted other Italian marques ever since. We’ll be at the Grand Summit Hotel at Attitash located in scenic Bartlett, NH.

Fiat FreakOut is the national convention of Fiat Club America and is a five-day event that includes a concours car show, coordinated scenic drives, track day, and lots of socializing. FFO23 is not just about the show car, it is a great opportunity to talk to knowledgeable people and vendor sponsors about your vehicle.

2022 AROC National Convention

This year’s convention, June 12-19 will be held in Coronado, California, just across the bay from San Diego. On the docket are time trials, autocross and parade laps at Willow Springs International Raceway; a morning Concorso; several day drives through Southern California's most scenic countryside; bus tours to regional attractions; a gimmick rally; tech talks at the hotel; the art and model show and shopping opportunities in the vendor room; Wednesday welcome reception, Thursday night social, Saturday night banquet and Sunday morning awards breakfast.

The gorgeous 4-star Loews Coronado Bay Resort is our convention venue; our room rates are highly discounted and include full use of resort facilities. AROC members attending the track events will overnight near Willow Springs, caravanning down to Coronado, with the option of stopping in Los Angeles at the Petersen Automotive Museum for a special docent-led tour. Alfa Romeo will be the featured marque at the
2021 Watkins Glen Grand Prix Festival and the 2021 Tour de Marque. 

Since 1993, the Grand Prix Festival of Watkins Glen presented by Chemung Canal Trust Company has celebrated our heritage of motor racing. Last year, an estimated 25,000 spectators helped us celebrate. As in previous years, a tribute to the Grand Prix races are featured in a variety of events during this all day festival. Events include the Walk of Fame award ceremony, a historical lecture called The Legends Speak, a pre-race Tech Inspection at Smalley's Garage, as well as several rolling events and two car shows known as the Stone Bridge Driver Events.

EVER SINCE 1994, Fiat Club America has coordinated the Italian Car Corral at Lime Rock Park's Historic Festival over every Labor Day Weekend. We have always invited the Alfa Romeo Owners Club members and other Italian car owners to participate. On Sunday, September 5th, there will be a Gathering of the Marques all around the track. There is no extra fee — just buy a general admission ticket. On Monday, September 6th, we will hold the Italian Car Corral.

The Thompson Vintage Motorsport Festival will take place on June 10th to the 12th at Thompson Speedway in the beautiful “quiet corner” of Connecticut. As with last year the VSCCA and the VRG will be sanctioning the event this year.  There will be one VSCCA all-comers grid for all  VSCCA eligible cars. Garage rentals are available for all 3 days.  Whther we have a dinner will be determined as we get closer to the date and what the state of the pandemic is.

If you do not send your payment promptly and show up at the event with a check in hand, you will have to pay the Regular Entry fee which is $50 more than the Early Bird rate.
 
NOTE: There is no Early Bird discount for Tech sessions, Hill Climbs, the Annual General Meeting and Holiday socials.  The  Lime Rock Historic Festival has their own Early Bird and cancellation policy.

The Trans Am Series by Pirelli along with the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) and International GT are a riviting mix of modern and vintage race cars on the same weekend!  Trans Am features large car grids populated by Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers and Corvettes — a massive dose of pure Americana with a touch of nostalgia. The Trans Am Series began igniting the passion of motorsports fans in 1966 and has been home to some of the greatest names in road racing. From 200 mph Indy and Formula 1 cars to classic Jaguars and Porsches, SVRA events provide a “rolling history” of motorsport. The excitement continues with International GT, a North American racing series that includes The Stuttgart Cup, Mission Foods GT3 Cup Trophy and The Maranello Cup championships for late model Porsche and Ferrari competitors.

The 2021 Trans Am Memorial Classic Races will be held at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, CT on Saturday May 29th. This year the racing includes modern and vintage race cars from the Trans Am series, Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) and International GT. Although this is not a NYAROC-sponsored event, our members have attended in the past and have enjoyed the racing.

Members Dan DeGiovine and George Linton are organizing a full-day road trip which will include the following:

• Breakfast at the Bayside Diner - 8:00am sharp (off Clearview Expressway & Northern Boulevard). Meet at the outdoor dining area.

• Departure at 9:00am sharp from the diner driving in a caravan for 2 hours to Lime Rock Park via the scenic Taconic Parkway (have full tank of gas and EZ pass ready to go)

• Enjoying the races, cars and all that Lime Rock Park has to offer

• Dinner after the races at Hoodoo Browns BBQ restaurant in Ridgefield, CT

The Lime Rock Park website is a bit confusing with all the tickets and events they offer. The tickets should be the ones that say RACE DAY FLEX, General Admission, 5/29-5/31. The cost is $45.00 per ticket.

August 24th and 25th of this year the Dutch Alfa Romeo Owners Club SCARB organizes its club weekend at the racetrack of Zandvoort. The Spettacolo Sportivo Alfa Romeo is the largest annual Alfa Romeo event in Europe and sees visitors from all over the continent and even further away. The program for the weekend includes races, parades, track training sessions and much more.

100 years of Zagato

The main theme is the design and couch building company Zagato celebrating its 100th anniversary. In 1921 the first Zagato body on an Alfa Romeo chassis appeared: the G1 Lusso. Many other Zagato bodied Alfas followed, like for example the 6C 1750 from 1929, famous for its victories in many races as well as its sleek and elegant design. Spettacolo visitors will see a variety of Zagato creations; Alfa Romeos and other makes. Many of those cars are very rare or unique.

Record attempt

A 'Zagato' that can be spotted on the road a little more often is the Junior Z from 1969 and its sister model GT 1600 Z from 1972. These models are put into the limelight to celebrate their 50th anniversary. With the support of the SCARB's Junior Zagato Register and the Dutch Junior Zagato Archives, we aim to gather together as many cars as possible, during the Spettacolo.

Alfa Romeo launched the 145, successor of the 33, at the 1994 Turin Auto Show.
Its sister 146 appeared December of the same year and went into production in 1995. At the Spettacolo we celebrate their 25th anniversary.

The Thompson Vintage Motorsports Festival will take place on June 20th to the 22nd at the Thompson Speedway in the beautiful “quiet corner” of Connecticut. The Early Bird registration fee is $475 and will be available until 6/9/19. Registration includes a practice on Thursday, qualifying on Friday and races on Saturday. Garage rentals are available for all 3 days.

Unlike in previous years where the Thompsons track sanctioned the event, the VSCCA and the VRG will be sanctioning this event this year.  There will be  2 VSCCA girds. Formula Junior will have their Vanderbilt Cup and the other grid will be made up of all other VSCCA eligible cars.
